Supporting our community

Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu delivers the largest community-based Driver Licensing Service across Te Tauihu, helping whānau gain the licenses they need to access employment, training, and greater independence.

Since 2023, our service has supported hundreds of individuals to achieve their Learner, Restricted, and Full Driver Licence through personalised support, driver education, and practical driving lessons.

Funded by the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), the programme supports eligible jobseekers to obtain their licence and improve their employment opportunities.

Experienced local team

Te Kotahi has three qualified Driving Instructors, two of whom are also qualified Community Driver Testing Officers (CDTOs). This enables us to provide high-quality driver education and support throughout the licensing journey.

Our kaupapa is simple — helping whānau remove barriers, gain their licence, and create pathways into employment and training.
